Could have been primarily a security update due to this:
First Tesla Model S remotely controlled by hackers, Tesla already pushed a fix
Yes, that works in car, but I want to be able to send addresses from emails, webpages, etc to the navigation system from my phone (or computer), without having to type them again in the car.I have not done it for a while but I'm pretty sure you can create a destination to navigate to by pressing and momentarily holding your finer on the destination location on the touchscreen map.
You don't have to type them in the car. That's what voice navigation is for. "Navigate to" name of business or address, either works just as well. It's quick and in more than 3 years I've never seen it make a mistake.Yes, that works in car, but I want to be able to send addresses from emails, webpages, etc to the navigation system from my phone (or computer), without having to type them again in the car.
I noticed the Climate pane now displays my interior temperature. It wasn't doing that before, unless I actually turned on the climate control.
That's true, the voice recognition is awesome and picks up the destination every time. Unfortunately Nav takes me on a bad route about 40% of the time. All in all Nav is not good. You don't have to type them in the car. That's what voice navigation is for. "Navigate to" name of business or address, either works just as well. That is still hit or miss. I still do not consistently get an interior temp reading before or after the updated app.
Thank you for sharing this. I had updated when it was first offered. It's disappointing that the notes did not advise of a security fix that was included. I know providing notes in the software updates is not Tesla's thing, but that needs to change to at least advise of important things like this.
From my messing around with the API, your A/C has to be on, and then you'll see the temp in the app.
What's apparently changed for me is that it can't wake the car.whats changed?
If 8.0 or 8.1 has navigation updates, maybe the new app will be able to push destinations from the phone to the new nav system
Right now, I have to make fake appointments to get a location from the phone to the car, which is silly and a bit awkward.
Yes intermittent slowness. I'm guessing they are queuing up the update. What's apparently changed for me is that it can't wake the car.
And, no, Max is not parked in sleep mode, my daughter is out driving with a friend, so won't be in sleep mode.
Anyone else have problem?
Correct. That is the the only time it consistently works....when I turn it on. When off, it is hit or miss.
Do you have 8.0 installed in the car?
Can you control any of the new Climate features in the app or is it the same as before? Not sure who you are asking, but yes I installed it last night.
