So I was pulling up to a community gate and it started closing. So I backed up to the keypad station. My rear view mirrors tilt towards the ground and I couldn’t see the keypad mount jutting out into the street. No proximity sensors alarmed. It took out my rear outside tail lamp, my charging door and scraped the rear quarter panel (See photo). I made an appointment through the app but it has yet to give me an estimate. I’ve heard horror stories about the cost of authorized body work.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Any experience with unauthorized body shop work In Phoenix? Does it look bad enough to just go through my insurance?
