Too early for battery day but this is a great video - shared in main thread. Talks about using Graphene in the anodes.

    Great video on Novonix:

Seems closer to production than some of the other rumours. Could be unveiled on battery day.

I have tried to list out all the rumours in one place. Anyone able to advise if all of these could be put together in one battery in 3 years? Clearly some are incompatible with one another.

    Cathode
    Novonix DPMG granules
Dry electrode from Maxwell - allows thicker cathode
    Single crystal cathode (Dahn)
    Cobalt free
    Sila Transition metal free
    SilLion nickel rich NMC

    Anode
    Novonix DPMG graphite granules
    Dry electrode from Maxwell
    SilLion high loading Silicon
Dahn's Anode free (not coated) and Lithium metal cathode

    Manufacture
    Hibar
    Cell to pack
    4070 size
    Tesla mining
    Tabless electrode

20% in 5 years isn't the groundbreaking type of announcement I was hoping for from Battery Day. Cobalt free in 2-3 years is nice but I hope there are more exciting things revealed on BD.

This is very interesting, I wonder if Tesla will use LNMO ,they have close links to Battery 500.
