Perhaps. However, Musk said that less than 250 miles EPA range is too little and the Model 3 SR+ battery in the Model Y would be less than 250 miles EPA. So, they would need a somewhat bigger battery for a Model Y SR+ to get to 250 miles EPA range and that adds complexity that I don't think they will attempt. I suppose a software locked LR battery is a possibility but I'm guessing they won't do that. We shall see.

I don’t disagree with this. Elon’s playbook is vast and nothing is ever off the table imo.

My prediction is that capacity will get a bump of ~10% next year in all 3 and Y models. At that point the Y SR would be introduced with a range of 250 or slightly more.

It might be FWD. the heat pump touches the front motor. Most other EV cars with heat pumps are FWD.

The heat pump is one aspect that worries me. Will Tesla figure out a way to make it work with a rear motor or will they regress to the less efficient Model 3 solution? I don't think they will make it FWD. I for one won't buy a FWD car.

The motor in RWD Teslas has to have a cooling system plumbed anyway, so using a heat pump and the rear motor as the backup heat source seems likely to me.
