I wonder if Seekonk SC will still be at Taco Bell. It's been a really long time since that process was started.
It would be great so see more superchargers in southern mass. There is a big gap between the RI state line and wareham. One in new bedford or fall river would be great. Especially since there is no fast charging in fall river at all.

Camden is on the way to Belfast, if you were heading to Belfast then making a quick stop in Camden would do the job for you. My point is that Camden is the major destination in that part of Maine, we go to that area every year. A Supercharger in Camden or Rockland serves the needs of people who are going to Camden as well as people who are heading through.
Hey yeah I get that, my point (mostly sarcastically, guess I should've used the /s...) was that people in Belfast wouldn't want to be called a pass-through. When we visit we're constantly between Belfast and Bass Harbor for the ferry out to my in-laws on the island so I'd love for there to be a SC in Belfast or Ellsworth as you have to go through there to get to the ferry terminal. There's a decent size Hannaford's in Ellsworth that has enough space for a SC...

I get your point, it sounded like I was referring to it as fly over country and it's not that, it is a place that you would want to go. My primary interest is in seeing that Route 1 is covered, it's no fun driving on an Interstate the joy is going from village to village on a scenic road.

To each his own, I guess. I'd rather spend less time in the car on the boring interstate than spend time sitting at stoplights in villages on a scenic road, especially when it means getting to the lake and seeing family a couple hours earlier...

Still think Belfast and Ellsworth would be the ideal choice for highway coverage.
I agree that Ellsworth is an ideal location, but for those on MDI for a week, it may necessitate a trip off the island, which can be a great inconvenience depending upon the tourists.

I hope the charger is not downtown Bar Harbor. That would be so inconvenient during tourist season, as well as the chance of being ICE’d would be high; hopefully they place it on the outskirts. Somesville, IMHO is preferable, as it has a vibrant enough community to entertain owners while they charge, while being more centrally located on the island for those wanting to avoid the Bar Harbor summer mayhem.

Somesville's gas station (On the Run) would indeed be a good location. If you're in a pinch, the Seal Cove Auto Museum has a couple of Level 2 chargers outside, as does that motel in Seawall, right near the park.

The Auto Museum chargers are not available when the museum is closed. There are free 24x7 32A J1772's in the town parking lot in SW Harbor, behind Sawyer's Market - PlugShare - Find Electric Vehicle Charging Locations Near You

Great news about Maine. Maybe some has read all my posts where I bitched and moaned about needing a Supercharger in Camden. With Camden and Bar Harbor they'll have Maine covered. Rockland would be fine also if they can't find a good spot in Camden.

I have two more places on my wish list, Newport which is planned and North Adams which still isn't. Route 2 has no coverage in Western MA, the intersection of Route 2 and Route 7 would be perfect.
Newport ME is now in the new map update.

Newport ME is now in the new map update.

It makes sense for splitting Waterville, ME (Construction) to Medway, ME, avoiding the Brewer, ME diversion
Also, I believe Newport, ME was on Electrify America's map for the 2022 to June 2024 phase.

And Camden, ME is gone from the map.
(For adapter owners, construction of the Belfast, ME ChargePoints should be beginning soon.)

Hopefully, they can find a new location near Camden as this is a gap that needs to be filled.

I also noted Camden was gone. Keep in mind we've found a bunch of locations over the past 3-6 months that were not on Tesla's map - a few of which have shown up in today's update as they've reached a level of project preparation maturity. It's possible Tesla still has eyes on Camden, but as a lower priority and thus pulled it from the map to keep us from getting our hopes up... We'll see. We do know Tesla had been in touch with the Camden planning board in the past but withdrew their plan prior to actual presentation.

It seems like right now they're focused on adding additional locations at Hannafords along I-95..

They could have push Camden back, or might also reconsider Camden and look at other Midcoast locations. With the Hannaford relationship they could add in Topsham and/or Belfast instead. Word is that work on the Belfast "Dieselgate" chargers will begin soon.

Tesla has had this job posting up for a month, but only one applicant so far (via LinkedIn at least). This might be why Supercharger permits aren't moving as fast as they could be otherwise-

Permitting Specialist, Supercharger (Boston)

"Tesla seeks a Permitting Specialist for our Northeast Supercharger team. The Permitting Specialist will be the main accountable associate for permitting requirements originating from the design and development teams and will work directly with jurisdictions to bring projects through the permitting process."
