Has anyone in CA gotten an update from their advisor/ the delivery center? Doesn't make sense that both model 3 and S orders are being delivered before us, especially when the estimate for the X was shorter than both when I ordered mid Oct.

I am not sure what is happening. I ordered Oct 4th - no update. I cancelled it last week because I am tired of not getting updates. No response on cancelling it.

I have watched dozens of carriers heading south on 101 the last month - less than 5 model Xs total.

I talked to my advisor yesterday - he said he was going to email Fremont - and then he disappeared. No further response yesterday or today. I’m not sure of the value of canceling - you lose your $100 either way - right?

I told my advisor that I’m leaving for Hawaii in a week and won’t be able to take delivery once I leave. Really poor way to treat customers - in my opinion. Frankly - I’m not sure I want a car built Christmas week anyway - those folks are probably under immense pressure to produce as many as they can.

I’m not optimistic. But I’ll be in Hawaii so there’s that . . . .

I just talked with Tesla today (delivery specialist). They told me West Coast will start getting VINs this week - delivery can happen within 3 days of getting the VIN assigned. If you can't take delivery around the Holidays - they'll gladly postpone delivery until after the new year. Of course they will. He also acknowledged that folks on the West Coast were put in a tough spot being put at the back of the line - all work until this week focused on other areas of the country to get deliveries out.

I talked to the Delivery Center in Marina Del Rey, California last week and they seemed to indicate that all the MX's were going to be produced together and mass delivered in the "final 2 weeks of the year." He also said that you should see this updated on the 15th ... which is today, and I don't see anything yet. Perhaps he meant the 16th, which is a Monday though. Fingers crossed for a big day tomorrow!

Went to a local delivery center (Marina del Rey) today to see if I could get some information. The person at the desk was very nice but basically the answer was "Sorry we don't know anything and there is no way to tell. But if it makes you feel any better a lot of people share your frustration right now."

Its not the waiting that is turning this into a lousy experience, its the lack of information. Somewhere someone knows when MXs destined for Los Angeles are going to be manufactured and shipped. Just tell us so we can make holiday plans. They don't have to provide an exact date just a few day range or approximation.

This is why I decided to get an inventory car. Hopefully I don’t have any issues with it. I will be picking up from MDR on Thursday. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.

Not CA... CO here. My VIN didn't show visible on the website until I got my text from Tesla to pick my delivery date. Once I picked that the VIN posted on Tesla plus my delivery date.

I will say that my sales lady did email me with the VIN when it was assigned, at that same time I was able to see the VIN that was in the source code. Delivery was set out 6-8 days out from text message. YMMV (by a lot)

My experience continues to disappoint. Ordered MX 10/21. VIN and a "delivery" appointment on the 18th mysteriously showed up this afternoon on the website. Yet I've received no communication about this supposed appointment and the MVPA is still not even available. Given banking speed-of-light I don't even think it's possible to take delivery on Wednesday given the lack of the final purchase agreement.

Has anyone in Los Angeles received a vin yet?

I’m in LA too. 10/31 order, MX LR, 22", FSD, black on black 5 seater and have heard nothing. The experience has been crap. Honestly, it was hard for me to commit to a purchase this big but I got excited and pulled the trigger. Once in, I thought I should consider solar and a battery wall and embrace the entire Tesla experience but why would I go through this again? Only thing I can say is so many people universally say the car will more than compensate for this frustration that I have to believe them.

I ordered the Model 3 then Solar then the Model X and quickly realized that these people do not understand customer service. The solar process was better than the car buying process but still terrible overall. I ended up canceling Solar. I’ll look into it again once I have the cars so I can properly calculate my usage. I also heard from many people that I’ll forget all about my experience when I get the cars. So I’m still waiting. 9 weeks and counting.
