Tesla doing home deliveries only

Tesla sent me a text that my MS will be dropped off at home in a few days. I requested a SC delivery so I can check the vehicle before taking delivery. I was informed by my sales guy today that Tesla is only doing home deliveries based on their experience last quarter where the SC got backed up and folks had to wait hours. He asked me to take pictures / video and document anything not acceptable to me.

Anyone else get the same message? Should I still insist on SC delivery? Its my first Tesla so kinda concerned and also wanted to get how to instructions. I guess I can still return the car in a week if there are problems. I'm in the bay area. TIA.

This is actually great news. As a shareholder I'm very happy that they are looking after their employees and customers by limiting crowds.

With everything happening with coronavirus having people congregate at a delivery center is not wise.

the world is changing right now and we have to accept those changes and then your reality.

If there are any issues with your car Tesla will make it right.

If you were to refuse your car it could take months before they do delivery center deliveries again.

If you have any questions about your car after delivery there's a whole community that will be able to help you.

I think last I checked they required 100% payment in full before home delivery? did that change? because once you paid the money it does not mater as much if you signed for the car or not, it's your car already.

Yes they only deliver once full payment has been made. At the SC you can inspect the car before yo make full payment.

In the current scenario this is indeed the right thing for Tesla to do as a company. I just hope I am not chasing them around to fix things after delivery. Hoping the car is delivered in pristine condition. Too many reports on forums with fixes needed post delivery.
