I have a 2012 MS that had film put on as an option when ordered. I don’t think that was an option for all that long, so perhaps I’m one of the few who ordered it like that but does anyone know if Tesla has a guarantee for it? Mine has a cracked look all over it, everywhere it was put on and it needs to be removed. I’m trying to figure out if I can get Tesla to remove it and possibly replace it, or if I’m going to have to pay to have it done.

I believe the option was called Paint Armor and was a partial-hood or partial-front coverage. PPF is typically replaced around the 5 - 7 year mark per my understanding since these aren't meant for permanency (I think it gets more brittle and difficult to remove as it ages), so it doesn't sound like something Tesla would replace under a warranty. That said, it might be just poor install work by whoever put it on (I think Tesla contracted third-parties for these).
