Tesla FSD - and "Traffic Aware Cruise Control"

Hi Folks!

I have been on the FSD Beta for a while now, and with this new update, I have noticed that I can't really do the "traffic aware cruise control" anymore effectively.

Many times I just double tap my stalk to stay in a lane, at a specific speed. It slows and speeds up on its own, and steers... its great for freeway drives.

Now - with the latest software update, FSD tries to move out of its current lane to move to a "faster" lane. I have set the option to do "less" lane changes, but this issues has forced me to drop out of FSD now - because I liked the old behaviour of just staying in the one lane.

Has anyone else experienced this?

If you don’t want it to drive “change lanes” either slow down or don’t use FSD. Not really an easy solution for individual interests.

Yeah - with the old software- I had the choice (at least on the freeway) of just doing traffic aware cruise control - it seems with FSD - that option goes away.

I should change that - Traffic Aware Cruise Control - WITH steering.... it worked really well on the old software. The new one keeps trying to pull me out of the carpool lane - really not helpful at all.

Sounds like it is working as intended. If there is no traffic to your right. If there was enough traffic for you to “need” the car pool lane it wouldn’t move to the right.

On the Autopilot page is a switch to prevent lane changes FOR THE CURRENT TRIP. So just flip that switch before each trip and you'll be good.

yeah - just found that - that is SUPER annoying, every single drive I have to go into the menu now.

Click your RIGHT scroll wheel to the right to bring up the setting quickly. It is a pain to have to do it on each drive but this at least accesses the setting quickly. Literally takes 1-2 secs to set it.

Close but not technically accurate. It is "Minimal lane changes for the CURRENT DRIVE." So it is even worse than if it were for the current trip. My trip is usually down to San Diego 600 miles away, so I have to reset it at the end of every supercharge. Yes, annoying.

You can also set up a seperate profile without FSD enabled, and use that profile
