Last week I went to to a design review at the UT San Antonio College of Architecture. Professor Michael Guarino had given the studio assignment of designing a new gallery for Tesla in San Antonio. In a twist, the sites weren’t in a mall but were on Broadway, a redeveloping urban corridor that once was the home to many of San Antonio’s most prominent auto dealers (ironic twist in Texas, for sure). Here are a couple of the designs presented: This one created a linear gallery on an abandoned parking lot site. I really liked the presence it had with the display bays marching down the street.
