Tesla Incentives OK'ed by Travis County.

FYI, Following on the Del Valle school district's approval, Travis County commissioners have also approved an additional county incentive package tonight. The vote was 4 to 0 (1 abstaining).

Interesting comments made during the meeting..
Tesla's Rohan Patel (who seems to be running the public policy side of this project) commented that they were in similar conversations with another state and another city mayor just yesterday (Hello, Tulsa). That pressure appeared to work. One commissioner wanted another week to review the material (and abstained from the vote), but the other commissioners thought a delay could cause them to lose the deal.

I've only lived in Austin for a year and a half, but from what I understand of the Del Valle area, it's been pretty underpriveleged, and this sort of development could be massively helpful from a jobs and school district perspective, especially if Tesla invests into the community like they've promised to do. From my perspective, this is a huge win for the southeast side of Travis County.
