Tesla is delivering cars to home illegally, I think....Watch out!

My new MYLR Tesla was delivered to my home 2 days ago. No temporary tags, no registration was filed. Nothing. I cannot drive my new car because they were too lazy to file the state registration and get temporary tags. This might be nothing more than (severe) aggravation, but here is my other concern:

1. I gave them written permission to drive it, and they were on the road with my car illegally (not registered).
2. Although I was working out of state and didn't see it arrive, I am quite sure that they did not have dealer plates on the car, since they are not considered a dealer by the state of Texas.
3. I was required to insure the car before taking delivery. I believe that my insurance would not cover an accident for a car that, by TX state law, is not supposed to be on the road.

Therefore, in the hypothetical case of a drunk driver plowing into my car at a stop light, couldn't said drunk driver successfully sue me because the car is not supposed to be on the road, and I gave them permission to drive it? USAA likely would say that that I incurred liability for the incident, since the policy mandates that the car be legally registered before driving on public roads.

What do you think, is my reasoning sound? I think my Tesla delivery Specialist might not get that 5 star rating.

With all due respect I am sure if they put fingers prints on your windshield from putting on temp tags you'd be complaining about that. Who cares be thankful you got your new Tesla and enjoy.......

In this insanely litigious society we live in, there is no problem over-thinking your liability exposure. I do it all the time.

Overreact much? They are a dealer. They don’t need to register the vehicle in order to drive it. And I can’t even begin to figure out why you think having a parked car on your property is illegal. Did you just move to Texas from California or something?

And also, yeah…maybe look inside the glovebox for important documents before freaking out.

If I had a nickel for everyone who was going to sue Tesla for something that is perfectly within the scope of the law…

Until the car is dropped off, you have not taken delivery. Therefore, any incident while Tesla was bringing you the vehicle (registered or not) would be a liability for them, not you.
