Love the AeroV chargers, which my Roadster likes as well. I like how the AeroV has that socket for your J1772
plug which keeps it out of rain, snow, dust, etc. Best design ever.

Since I have another make of EVSE at home which came with NO j1772 plug protection at all (?!), I came up with an easy to make low cost solution. Pipe insulation: 2 7/8 in od, 7/8 in id so need to use box cutter. Its just what happened to be on hand.
Now Henry's CAN contacts stay nice & clean.

Yes: Use the Tesla connector at the car to make/break the connection. Thus:

To setup: Attach the adapter to the charge unit, then use the Tesla end to connect to the car.

To breakdown: Disconnect the Tesla end from the car, then remove the adapter from the charge unit cable.

One way to remember this is that the adapter cable converts the cable.

Since Henry's CAN is electrically invisible to both the Tesla and the EVSE, how did you come up with this protocol? The opposite way is much easier to do IMHO.
