It looks like a compressed picture to me. The black areas are likely where the panels go, and the top triangle appears to be a part of your roof without panels. It appears to me that something happened to the picture, either on their end when they sent it, or on your end when you opened it on your computer.
Not sure what email client you are using, but if you are using a thick client (outlook, applemail etc) try using the web based version and see if it still looks that way? If so, then ask them to re send it to you because the picture got compressed.
