Tesla (König) Chains for 20" wheels should not be used on Tesla 20" wheels

Just got back from skiing. I used the Konig chains sold on the Tesla website for my Model Y 20" wheels. Do not use the chains sold for Model Y 20" wheels on Model Y 20" wheels. Ouch. It looks like this for the entire circumference of the wheel. Both sides.

Doesn't matter what chains you use on a car. They will all damage your wheels. If they don't this time they will the next.

I've used Konig chains on my old Model 3 a number of times and they never left a mark. I think it's the difference in a smooth vs matte finish on the wheels.

Regular auto parts store chains did the same thing. At least i got down the mountain.

Installed correctly. Followed speed guidelines.

Tesla takes no responsibility and no response from Konig.

Considering how uniform the damage is, it looks like you spun the tires inside the chains,

Aside from that, I’m not surprised the chains did damage considering how wide the wheels are relative to the tires.

Not to defend Tesla, but it should’ve been obvious the moment you put the chains on.
