Today i released another app to the AppStore.
This app is for those who don't want to use the keyfob but instead use the today extension and TouchID to unlock and start the car or to lock it.

    The app costs 2$/€

You can check the app in action in this video:

Appstore: Key for Tesla on the App Store

Please remember that this API should not be relied on to start your car. i.e. do not leave your fob at home. Your tesla can lose connectivity at any time which would leave you stranded.

Heck, even if they had bluetooth pairing to your phone to provide fob functionality and your phone died, you'd still be stranded.

This API should be considered a backup or at the very least used at home when you need to move the car out of the garage for say washing and your key is still inside.

Of course. I didn't mean to belittle your effort. It's still way cool :)

Looks good. Not having to type in your password each time you want to start the car without the fob just to move it outside the garage is pretty cool.

It's cool but you should really put a warning that if you lose cell service in the car or on your phone, you're stuck.

I trust users know that. But maybe i can add it to the appstore description.

The advantage of the app is that. Speed up what the original app already does.

The today extension speeds up even more

Touchid is much faster than typing in the password

Touch ID is coming to the official Tesla App.

Force-touch unlock is also a good idea. I use the HVAC function often.

    I hope it does come!

In the meanwhile i made this app.
Force touch is not that secure as touchid.

Im planning to add the climate function next :)

And of course the official Tesla app does this (including touchid) and costs nothing....

Thanks for your kind words :)

My app was released before tesla released theirs..
as per features tesla app needs to load the car status, you need to tap unlock and you need to tap remote start. And also press some confirmations on the way.
My app does all that in one tap (plus touchid) without waiting for the car status so in practice is 2/3X faster.

Tesla officail app doesnt support apple watch.

If you want a free app then you can build one.

FWIW: I bought his app, also to support guys like him who put the effort and knowledge in to develop something that you can have for next to nothing. If you buy an 100K car, spending 2 $ on an app....
Keep going @Jonas_man we need more of you

    Thanks for support.

This app was actually a suggestion from a member of the community in FB.
I have worked on it based on feedback :)

@Jonas_man You might want to check out this forum for TeslaVision and TeslaFi software (and other that I might have missed), which is getting more drive history related data from the car using the same API's. I dont think there is a similar software in the form of an App. When the masses in their Model 3 come to market, you can get a nice revenue from that.
