Tesla Mobile Connector adapter 6-50 has 20a printed on it, why?

I just noticed that my Tesla 6-50 adapter for the Gen 2 mobile connector has printed on it (in ~2-point type size!): 20A 250V.
A 6-50 plug should be rated for 50 amps, or at least default to 32 amps for charging. I have not used it in a while, and do not have this receptacle at my house- can anyone tell me:

1) if theirs has the same spec on printed on it,
2) what amperage it defaults to when plugged in

Thanks

I think you may be misreading the number. It is a longstanding known fact that the 14-50 and 6-50 adapters say 30A on them (not 20A). We haven't really heard a good explanation of why they had to print that on them. It probably is related to some kind of testing margin requirement or something. But yes, the adapters do set the current for the mobile charging cord to 32A, as they should.

You are right, a scratch makes it look like it could read 20A, especially if you need glasses, but upon close-up inspection it really is 30A...Thanks.
