Tesla Model 3 in Australia

As far as I understand, the M3 maxes aou at 16 AMP 3 phase and you will need *special* gear for that.
I would suggest a version 1 UMC for that - bout $1,000 from Aliexpress.
Got the gear (I hope...) - read blogs from those who have gone before and splashed out on an over-the-top JuiceBooster with 32A and 20A "tails". Pricey (over $2K) but convenient with waterproof connections, and I got the extra 10 metre cable for those "difficult to reach" sockets. All fine until I arrive back of Bourke somewhere to find their generator broke down yesterday... :). Now I just need plenty of sunscreen (or a good hat) in case that UV-blocking roof isn't quite up to Tropical Australia....
By the end of the trip I should know a bit more about how brilliant the Model 3 is (and what FSD thinks of Kangaroos/Emus) - will have the DashCam engaged...

At this stage, we unable to provide an updated delivery ETA for your vehicle, deliveries will commence in August and continue throughout September.

Not sure if this is any help for anyone and fills any gaps but this is the reply from deliveries I got when I tried to get some info. Haha

As soon as we have more information (usually 7-10 days prior to delivery) we will contact you to schedule delivery and provide a final invoice. Continue to keep an eye on your Tesla account for the most up to date information.

Hope you have better luck than I did. We set out to drive around North America in a M3P; started in Florida, got to Quebec and some dickhead in a Silverado towing a huge caravan attempted to push us off the road - didn't do the car any good at all.

Still only the one entry in Random's spreadsheet for August deliveries, and seems to not be much action today. Getting very tight now for 7 days notice of an August delivery
I've seen one more reported call today from a very early reservation. Not a lot.

There do seem to be a lot of cars on the move around the city though. A little hard to square with so few reported calls/delivery appointments.

I have enough on with the ships/vins. If anyone wants to summarise the delivery side that would me most helpful..

Something like this in a table. Keep it simple for effective communication. It will help set expectations.

Got off a call from Tesla Destination Charger :D. The delivery specialist confirmed my details/trade-in/payment and that I will receive an invoice next. He said the expected delivery date at this stage is "late Sept", and that I can hand in/post my custom plates anytime from now (they need them at least 5 days before delivery date).

Just checked my account and saw this :)!!!

I wish it was sooner but I'm happy ... very happy :D.

Mrs. is very happy with a call from a delivery specialist today about 30mins ago. Final invoice to be issued soon and uploaded to account and delivery around mid Sept which suits us just fine as we are Bali bound from 2nd Sept to 12th Sept.

A very happy/relieved man indeed. Might get some treats from the Mrs. in Bali :p

It is a bit perplexing what is going on in NZ, there is evidence of quite a few cars in Auckland but next to nothing on the delivery front or any real contact from Tesla. On the Oz side of things they are booking appointments through to the end of September.

Just remember there may be people getting cars that do not spend all their working day trawling forums/ social media. We don't have all the data

Just wondering if people have any trips planned or thinking of in their shiny new cars? :) I’ve got family in Adelaide so would consider Melb-ADL road trip. Also, dear friend in Byron Bay so would do Melb-Syd-Newcastle-Canberra-Port Macquarie-Byron Bay. Looking forward to using the charger network on these routes and seeing how it pans out

I would love to make a trip from Sydney to Perth and up to Shark Bay.

I have dreamt of going to Shark Bay for about 30 years...

.... and I would just like to prove to myself that so-called "range anxiety" is a load of hogwash.
