.... I am now picturing my delivery specialist - who was just about to dial my number - receiving a flood of communication preferences updates flashing red on his PC monitor, pushing my number down to the bottom of his screen...
Incidentally, at this stage Tesla could add an additional box in the right hand column:

I thought the same thing. However, I suspect Tesla staff need to get through the first delivery hump without new helpers, as training up "volunteers" right at the start might be more of a hinderance than help.
However, once they have got through the first quarter, they might be able to train up volunteers during the quiet time/beginning of the December quarter.
We might meet there one day Renewablekid!

Yes, the cars that have arrived so far in Sydney are sitting at an Autonexus facility being reviewed and repaired if needed. There is a few there this week a few more next week and heaps more the week after.
My guess anyway.
Its not hidden. At a certain point in the process, Tesla will generate an invoice for you (or your finance company) to pay them some monies.
Its another milestone on the way towards them (never?) delivering our cars.
