Mine is "reminding" (/hassling) me to connect to wifi. But currently our wifi doesn't reach the garage, and the car doesn't support the kind of username/password sign in required to get onto the one at work. Looks like will need a wifi range extender...Its apparently terribly slow. Unlike all the S and X here.
Thanks. That was always my assumption from the website and staff in Martin Place. Since starting to follow this forum I've lost all patience and October seems like an eternity away. That and I sold my S3 2 weeks ago, public transport isn't really doing it for me.welcome! If you’re in the same boat (all puns intended) as the rest of us, you can expect delivery October.
It’s on CarJam with its WOF showing. But no registration date showing as yet. That has seemed to show up a few days later anyway.Awesome news, is it registered and licenced on carjam etc?
So...using that link posted earlier I seem to get this VIN:
5YJ3F7EB5KF5171xx
Blue P+, White interior
@Vedaprime surely this is just a placeholder?
There is also evidence that the devaluation of high range EVs is far less than normal ICE vehicles, and of course running costs are much lower (around 1/3) such that total cost of ownership for the EV over 5 years or more can actually be less than a comparable (but crappier) ICE
You can always hotspot your phone and connect the car through wifi to the phone.Mine is "reminding" (/hassling) me to connect to wifi. Yes. But apparently: a) updates come down sporadically, so it's hard to know that a brief connection will suffice, and b) the maps updates can be huge. You can always hotspot your phone and connect the car through wifi to the phone.

Did you have a hidden VIN prior to contacting them? The impatience got the better of me and I reached out to the delivery advisor for our Model S by email.
The reply is both a blessing a curse...
"I can see your VIN has been assigned, it’s on a ship arriving for delivery around the end of this month. We’ll be starting to schedule customers on this ship in about a week or so."
At least I don't have to sit on my phone for a few days.
It's a reasonable idea. The cabling isn't straightforward, though.I would suggest running an Ethernet cable through your roof from your router and then linking that to a Ubiquiti UniFi Lite on your garage roof. That way your tesla should have its own wifi AP
Hardest part is running it up the wall, really depends on the situation. It's a reasonable idea. The cabling isn't straightforward, though.
either do power line or wifi booster/extender
power line adapters work well.
