Anyone know approx. how long it takes the cars to get from Sydney to Melbourne for delivery? I'm thinking @Vedaprime probably best placed to answer this?

Just got back from a test drive and far out.. Nothing does it justice like driving one. Haven't driven an electric vehicle until today and it was just out of this world.

One pedal driving, autopilot, the sound system, the acceleration... all amazing

It doesn’t take long to Transport from Autonexus. They do need a clean/final detail. The constraint is the local resources capacity. The rego is done locally, any service centre issue to rectify, and then the appointment schedule slot. So from leaving Autonexus, it is probably a few days to a week for delivery, depending on local constraints and backlog. Another constraint is the number of transporters. This ended up being a constraint in the US during logisitics hell.

AUS / NZ Tesla Model 3 VIN Submission Form (Responses)

With data, we can see the unknown and make educated guesses instead of unknown speculation!

Thanks for taking the time to submit your data, every little piece helps so please keep the spreadsheet up to date and the data clean.
Just added our SR+

It isn’t just ANL Warrnambool with a delay. ANL has been pushed back to Friday 4am slot at the port. The ship is reporting 6am.

It looks just a case of the port being super busy.

Merkur Ocean has also been pushed back to Saturday 3.30am slot at the port.

Hmmmm..... time for me to call NRMA again.
An over the phone informal quote with the same no claims and loyalty was roughly $1,800 for me..
Is it garaged? Mine will be under a car port.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Anubis, yes our car will be in the garage. We'll also need to get a new quote this week and use the full price of the car, so the insurance price will rise a bit.

Sorry in advance if this has been asked and answered already.

Took my delivery call last Wednesday, confirmed all details and they said they would send me the invoice in 2 business days.

2 business days in tesla language normally means 2 weeks.

But from everyone's experiences so far, how long after the delivery call should I get my invoice.

Take my money tesla.

3 business days

I was originally scheduled for today, then they called last Thursday to move it to tomorrow, and then this afternoon a different guy called again to move to Wednesday....
I was also originally scheduled for today, then got a call on Thursday to reschedule for tomorrow and then got a call this afternoon to reschedule again. The rep claimed the batteries may arrive late tonight and they may not be able to replace them on time for tomorrow as they are fully booked.

Very frustrating as I had to change all my work commitments and plans for the third time (extremely inconvenient).

I am now scheduled for 12:30 on Wednesday and I will be extremely frustrated and probably not so nice, if they call me again to reschedule, as they can and should have pulled out a battery from a showroom car or cars scheduled for delivery after me (mine is a Black SR+ with VIN number 4427XX and build date of 10/07/2019).

Hi TaylorP, thanks very much for that post. I think I’m in the same boat as you - just got the invoice for our SR+ (May 2018 res, 4416XX) for delivery in Canberra week 23 Sep, but the rego cost area was blank. No mention of having to register the car ourselves in the phone call so it’s a bit of a surprise...

Is this the form you use? https://www.accesscanberra.act.gov....h+New+Registration+from+Interstate+Dealer.pdf

Looks like a few details are needed that aren’t on the invoice (CPA number, TAN etc.). Did you get any guidance on that from Tesla and/or when we can actually get the number plates? Not totally clear whether we need to have the car inspected in the ACT ourselves either.

Hi cbrsr+, yes looks like our cars are coming on the same transporter as our delivery specialist said to expect our delivery in the week beginning 23 September. We’re thinking of going into Access Canberra soon to make some Enquiries so I’ll try to personal message you (never done that before, this is all new to me!) if/when I find out what the process is and which form to use. We don’t have our invoice yet, it was supposed to arrive today but hasn’t as yet, they must be flat out in Sydney. I think Access Canberra issue the plates on the spot and I don’t think we have to have the car inspected, but will let you know. What are the CPA and TAN numbers and where do we get those?

Swung by Autonexus in Perth today. Seems like they are in the process of cleaning the vehicles. The grotty black one with aero wheels and a red performance appear to be inside their workshop...or shipped out already?? Bit worried why some other Perth buyers have got their rego papers last week but nothing as yet for me. Managed to get a reply from Tesla confirming they've received payment but no other info forthcoming. Trying to keep the faith....View attachment 452489
The TESLA rep at Melbourne delivery that replied to my email regarding licensing advised that they only license the vehicles a day or so before delivery. I have not heard of any deliveries in WA before September 16 so its likely that cars being delivered on that date may not be licensed until Friday September 13 (lucky day?). I am keeping any eye on my DOTWA account to see when mine is registered.

I have a similar recollection... when I was 15, I built my first electric vehicle. It was a slightly dangerous and illegal pump-up scooter, powered by a car starter motor and spare car battery my dad had lying about. We both had a ride on it and I thought: "This is what I want." More projects followed, but still hampered by lack of technology (and lack of money to buy what tech there was!)

Exactly 50 years later, I test drove a Model S, and thought: "It's arrived."
My Granddad built himself an electric car in the ‘40s. When he was out Grandma decided that she knew how to drive and that she would take it to the shops... her chosen path was straight into a fence and she got out leaving it churning away until it melted.
We’re naming our M3 in his honour.

I got my invoice emailed today and have made some interesting observations:

-VIN 4432XX matches exactly the hidden VIN I had for the last 3 weeks
-Build date is 1/8/19....yes that's right...AUGUST! That's far later than we all thought for this sequence of VIN.
-With that build date I estimate the earliest ship it can possibly be on is the ANL Warnambool which hasn't even arrived in Sydney yet! That's different to the previous reported Cap Capricorn for this VIN.
-The invoice states my car has 17km on it! Isn't that very high? I haven't heard of anyone else with such a high mileage on their new deliveries?

At least you have an invoice. I'm still waiting for an invoice for my P3D- PearlWhite reserved on day 1 and ordered on day 1 for Perth. I foolishly told them I would be abroad until 10th September when Tesla originally rang me ( when we were in Reno at the Gigafactory)

I’ve been waiting for 1.5 weeks now. Got the call on Thursday (29th of Aug) and still haven’t gotten an invoice. Every email and phone call just gets ignored.

I have a delivery booked on the 20th. I doubt I will be picking up the car.

This is so frustrating. Have half a mind to cancel my order and just order in 6 months time.

Thanks. have updated vinship with a second production day so people know. It seems a few early vins are having split prod days. No issue, just impossible to predict until an invoice pops up.

I am in "the same boat" as both of you, received an invoice last week, the delivery specialist advised will deliver around the 23th, and I have to register the car myself, I also confirmed there will be no one from Tesla to actually explain how things work, they can assist on a phone if needed, and if any issues they will sort them out after delivery. We almost need our own "Canberra Club" thread :)
