Is there any nice discrete place it can be put and still work?
I figure the manual is wrong cause it states to place it on the "right side of the rear view mirror as shown". I'm guessing for Australia it's the left.
I stuck mine on the left side of the rear view mirror so not sticking in my eye when driving and it works perfectly there.

Hmmm... I’ve heard different, that the goop in the Tesla kit is “TPMS” friendly and can be cleaned out afterwards to repair the tyre, while normal goop will get you going again but the inside of the tyre is ruined and yes has to be replaced. Mind you, I reckon in most cases if you need that stuff then the tyre will be beyond repair regardless, so it doesn’t matter. Whenever I’ve taken a tyre in to be fixed the only times it’s been repaired is when there are slow leaks. In all other cases, even in what seem to be fairly simple single point puncture incidents, they say “new tyre”.

I have not used the Tesla specific kit. a few years ago I used one of those foam cans from petrol station, but sure enough it does ruin the tyre. though it allows you to drive back home the tyre places will not fix the tire properly after that.
Since then I have purchased the puncture plug kit for motorcycle and used it on my motorcycle a couple of times when have had punctures and those appear to hold well enough that you can use the tyre until it gets to wear line after repairing it on the road without requiring any extra tyre specialists. So I bought one of those kits for my Tesla also and a pack of CO2 capsules. This should get me back out of tricky spot if I get a puncture.

Recently back from an overseas trip. Left the Model 3 in covered parking, sans charger, for the three week duration. Cabin overheat protection and Sentry mode were disabled (and to make doubly sure I disconnected the storage device from the USB port).

The car had 84% charge when I dropped it off (Nov 20), and 75% when I picked it up again (Dec 10). It seems to lose a bit under half a percent per day while sitting idle (with warm ambient temperatures). I woke it up a few times during the trip to check the charge level, and the rate of decline seemed pretty constant.

So no worries about long(ish) trips with the Model 3. As long as getting to/from the airport doesn't use an excessive amount of charge it's fine with sitting off charge for several weeks at least.

Also got my Homelink retrofit from Tesla (mobile service appointment; way better than having to drive to Brisbane!). Took about an hour (or slightly less) for the tech to install it. Provided free due to having purchased when Homelink was advertised as an included feature on Tesla's website.

Didn't work with my garage door, but was able to sort it out thanks to the other thread. Details over there, but basically I had to get a separate receiver and wire it into my existing garage door opener. Final result looks like this:

Well c'mon man, you've had it for an hour!!!! :) . And....???

Yes, I'm with you there!!
Flaming rude of him to have his shiny new M3 Performance in Blue with white interior (same as mine and I am STILL WAITING!!!) and he hasn't even had the time to update us on what it's like - even though he has now had it for over three hours.
I mean, what is he doing? it's not like it's fun to drive or amazing to experience or anything like that, is it? :):D

Driving driving driving!

It is everything I hoped for! Just home for a brief break before another drive.

It's v9 and waiting on wifi for the update.

Can't seem to turn on cabin overheat protection.
Haven't worked out the easy entry profile yet.
Sound is great
The rolling back is a bit of a worry. Wasn't even really a steep incline.

I’ll be very interested to know how the white interior holds up with time. Looks gorgeous. Congratulations!

Hehe it is rather a woofy car! Just called it quits for the night. Plugged in the portable charger (15A). The woolies bag had my bits and bobs I had bought over the last couple of months. I had a Jeda USB hub, an SSD, and a wireless charging pad. I bought a Froot mat too.
Everything working great!

I learned a cute lesson yesterday about charging. I have my wall charger on a controlled load (T33 in QLD) which goes off roughly between 5pm and 9pm peak hours. I left the car charging from about 4:30 until the power went off and noticed it still had a couple of hours left to get to my charge limit.

The next morning, I saw it was still on the % where it stopped when the power was cut. The car had gone to sleep and it turns out that re-applying the power while plugged in does not take it out of sleep mode and start charging... oops!
