Hey, no problem. Hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more videos like this from the event; the live cast would be great too but I don't know if that will be possible because of the audio issues. I'll keep looking anyway.
I wish the radio wasn't playing. Would have liked to hear the natural car sounds more.
Interesting that the touchscreen controls for the stereo were operational. I thought for sure it would just be a static image for show. Glad to be wrong about that.
Yeah but he opened the door to talk to the cop so the windows probably were not working. And it would be very easy to hook the touch screen directly to an Ipod and make it look like it was working .... When people see the little things working they assume the big things are working too.
If you look at 6:20, it looks like the right headlight is pointing way up and off to the right on the building.... oops!
I'm not going to steal anyone's thunder - but you'll get your no music version
Two things I'll note:
The touch screen was clearly functional, check out when Elon uses the volume slider (yay! a slider!). With that UI paradigm, it will be reasonably easy to use most of the controls - better than most button-based interfaces. I like the intended ability to skin the UI.
I hope that the screens are LED backlit. If they're CCFL, it's not going to last the life of the car. The half-life of CCFL backlighting may make it 5 years, and maintaining brightness during the day is going to be critical.
Ditto on the screens used. The black level on the instrument LCD was pretty horrible. They need to do better by production.
The Knight Rider theme was what the DJ played inthe room system played as the car took off.
In the car will i am is Roadster owner number 40.
Ah, but is André 3000?
(The tune on the stereo is Outkast)
Will was on the large screen (full video) in Dr Tara's tricked out Tesla in the parking lot.
Anyone get shots of that ride?
(He said sheepishly changing the subject).
I believe Doug has some video of it.
Outkast for the first song in the first drive in the Model S? I love it.
