Too heavy, not enough range, and no trunk space.

Unfortunately, the one they didn't get is what would have made them a stand-out EV.

I was working with a guy this week who could clearly afford a Model S. Since the parking lot had one Tesla (ours), one Leaf, and two Volts, there was a lot of EV talk. The I3 was in big discussion at lunch and someone used a phone to show the guy a picture of it. He was interested in an EV as a concept and looked at the picture in front of him and said, "That's not so bad!" I pointed out how sad it was to even have to say that. Everyone agreed it was a not so good looking car. I pulled out my phone and showed him pix of the Model S. His reaction? "WOW".

He's going to the local Tesla store this weekend.
