Tesla Model Y CARB certification published, hinting at stellar range and imminent delivery

"It roughly translates to real-world city range with a multiplier of 0.7 so this would mean an estimate of around 309 miles of city range for the Model Y.” The electric car manufacturer lists the Model Y Performance range on its website as 280 miles based on EPA estimates. If the Model Y hits a range of around 309 miles, this puts it close to the range of its Model 3 sibling that hits 310 miles on a single charge."

Model 3 dual motor long range is now 322 miles and performance is 310. Assuming Model Y is 10% less, this would be about 290 miles for LR and increase of 10 miles compared to initial release. This makes sense given recent model 3 changes.

From what I understand EPA is a combined city and highway efficiency and EV's are less efficient on the highway. Therefore the MY Perf with a "city" efficiency of 309 may be very close to an EPA of 280 as stated on their site. What it does say is no big battery breakthrough coming with the model Y and most likely not much change in the battery pack tech from the status quote. We would assume the new tech is going into the semi in limited production. Wonder if there is still 1500 m of wire in it and the body is made of numerous small pieces?
