Tesla Model Y charging issue -

I received a charge cable may not be plugged in correctly for my Model Y. I’m hooking up to a non-Tesla charger with the Tesla adaptor. I looked at the charge port and the left side is black and the right side looks metal. Not sure if there is a problem there?

I haven’t taken it to another charger yet, but figured I’d check here first. I am going to take a picture of the port to make sure that isn’t a problem either. I have an appointment with Tesla on 9/30, but not sure I can make it to then without charging lol.

Sounds like this common problem we've seen several times with all the Tesla cars. The pins in the charge port on the car have these black plastic rings on the tips of them, and sometimes they will break off one of the pins and get stuck in a charging handle. The side that it has broken off from will look like shiny metal instead of black. Check the pictures in these posts and see if it seems like what you're seeing.

Tesla does have a service bulletin to replace the caps with some kind of better version that are less likely to break off, but I would think a new Model Y would already have the better version. Those caps are called "deadfronts" in the service bulletin if you need to ask Tesla about them.
