That’s what I’ve been doing. I use a M3 (base + FSD) in the configurator to do loan calculations, with the confidence that a MY (blue, no FSD) will be less than that. (I.e. if I can afford the former then I can comfortably afford the latter.)
I see that Shanghai is considering making Model Y LR RWD.

The CATL LFP cannot be used for the LR version as the energy density is too low. Thus I would expect the LG battery. Just like the model 3.

Not suer we know, I think the consensus is the perf gets panasonic, the LR gets LG Chem and the SR gets catl

Nobody knows exactly at this point, but the fact that some Model Ys have been shipped for compliance testing indicates it’s not far off. See the Tesla Model Y in Australia thread for more information.

Still making a big deal of 505km (LR).
Not looking good for the SR is it?
They might get the SR complianced, just in case they decide to sell it later.
Edit: Mostly thinking that because if you take the same 580 -> 505 diff on the LR, and apply it to the SR it's 448 -> 373. Dipping sub 400 is a big psychological barrier to some newcomers to EV land (myself)

Are you comparing the model 3 to the the model Y? Then you should know that the HK MY SR actually has longer range than the M3 SR. It has a larger battery.
