I know we are all EV mad, but seriously, the best mid size SUV for many families at the moment is the Hybrid RAV-4 there is a reason its whipping it; it can be delivered in less than 6 months, and uses very little fuel for its size. I'll continue to receive hate, but hybrids (not plugins) are a better use of cells to reduce emissions. Even better, the X-Trail and Qashqui are also nearly ready with their interesting e-Power drive train that gets user used to the EV driving experience in a series hybrid config using only 2kWh of cells. Seems like a no brainer for many EV skeptics. Once they get used to the electric motor always ricing the wheels, the more they will gravitate towards a full EV in years to come.

So annoying, there will a total influx of white cars because its like $4500 cheaper. Not a fan of the white, looks like an egg.

Won't get the rebate because 67900 plus delivery (1300 approx similar to M3) and 350 booking will put over the threshold for rebate

Watch the following and you'll see that the Ioniq has a noticeably smaller boot.

It's not about the size of the boot, its about the shape of the rear roof line. The boot on the Model Y is deeper and slopes more which makes the car more aerodynamic.

Had the Ioniq 5 order ready and almost clicked confirm. But last second decided not to order the Ioniq 5, still waiting on model Y .
In case you didn't know , ~65 prebuild Ioniq 5's went on order today at 1pm today and will be delivered by end of June I believe.

Only the driver's side one, the others were fine. The replacement had a similar number to the dead one, so I'm not hopeful the blinker light leak will be fixed.

that could be exciting in itself.. who knows could it be indicative of 4680 cells? or perhaps energy density improvement on 2170 cells and overall drivetrain efficiencies...

Probably the latter. I'm not aware of any 4680 out of Shanghai.

Shanghai is still building its 4680 plant, it'll be end of the year or so I'd guess

It‘s a shame we can’t see if the road signs are in English or read all the detail on the registration plate.

I suppose by the process of deduction this looks genuine. The image hasn’t been mirror reversed, unless someone photoshopped the rego plate, the rego plate could be from the National Heavy Vehicle scheme and if so the letters are consistent with a trailer based in Victoria, so that adds up, and they do look like Model Y not X. We can’t see if they are LHD or RHD.

So if this all adds up, it could be a very significant development.

Do you know where this was claimed to be taken or did you take the photo yourself?
