Stupid IP squatters. Rent seekers, like auto dealerships.

Awesome, now they can really get down to business.

Wait, what? How does one come to that comparison?

I think callmesam means they are both rent seekers, in their own way, not that they are similar endeavors. Instead of innovating, they profit from status quo while expecting gov'ts and courts to protect them from innovators.

Thanks for the news Benz, go go Tesla!

The individual in question held 12 trademarks, which he trademarked in motor vehicle categories, but around the time Tesla was expanding into other markets. He was offered $300,000 by Tesla - but he refused to accept any less than $30 mn.

Tesla won the trademarks, he doesn't get a penny and he has to pay Tesla's legal fees.

Should've taken the first offer, the greedy sod. Got exactly what he had coming to him.

I am glad he didn't get anything. I don't call people like that squatters, I call them parasites.

is it wrong that I took more pleasure out of this sorry sap losing and paying money out of his own pocket than I am with Tesla being able to use the words that most closely match the company name?
