Tesla is valued at $556 million. As of today's close, GM's market cap is $458 million. Chrysler is now owned by Fiat.

So, as measured by market cap, is Tesla now the 2nd largest US owned car maker, behind only Ford?

When you look at it in those terms it becomes a small fish in a small pond.
Basically the auto industry has "tanked".

We know things will restart. Tesla seems to have a better shot at greatness with the big guys practically starting over at the same time.

Hopefully the bust cycle is ending and boom times are coming soon.
