    Hi guys,
I was hoping the Model S was going to be on the front of a lot of magazine covers after it won the Motor Trend 2013 car of the year award...haven't seen it even mentioned in any of the car mags down here in New Zealand, let alone on the cover...wondering if it was any different in the USA/Europe/Asia?
People might say that the car is sold in too few numbers to warrent a cover spot, but if you look at most car mag covers its usually some exotic Ferrari or Lambourgini that sell in much less numbers than the Model S will. So that shouldn't be a vaild excuse.
*Sigh* I guess we will have to wait until Tesla makes the next roadster/supercar that can dust a Bugatti Veyron for 1/10th the price to get a few cover spots.

I've stopped reading the local magazines as they seem to be stuck in the Holden V Ford paradigm.
The Model S has been on the cover of Jan 2013 issues of US magazines Motor Trend and Automobile and one or two others.
I couldn't find either in local newsagents so downloaded them through the Zinio app on my iPad.

Just picked up an AUTOMOBILE and MOTORTREND magazine, with the Model S on the cover of both of the as it was both magazine's COY.

Sorry - just edited this - I meant AUTOMOBILE, not Autoweek.

Ok that's good news...thought they would have been on the cover of December issues...would have helped get the word out and spur more reservations before the price increase. Is the price increase mentioned in the Autoweek or MotorTrend articles? When did they come out? Should give Tesla a nice boost in reservations as people will want to get in before the Jan 1st price hike.
If not will still help overall reservations regardless...some big mag splashes on the front cover of news-stands should do a lot to get the word out on Tesla.

No, no, no! TM is already being overwhelmed with new reservations ... ~100/day! It's more than they can make yet! They're not advertising -- for a reason! Awareness of the Model S must be raised very gently!:tongue::wink::rolleyes:

These are the only two mags I have seen the model S on the cover in the US.

If anyone has the date of the issue of AutoWeek mentioned above, please post.

Sorry - it was late when I posted that note - it was AUTOMOBILE magazine, not AUTOWEEK.

I brought my motor trend and automobile magazine to the factory for my delivery with the intention of getting as many workers as possible to sign it. I warble to get most of the delivery specialist and a few in the factory as they had just started lunch break and or tour rolled though the Saturday free lunch line a little too quick too get many signatures. The few whosigned were very excited to have me ask to sign.
