Yes, if you want the Tesla price.Do you need a membership even if you own a Tesla and you’re trying to charge something else?
Agreed. Would have expected 3 tiers.I feel a good compromise would have been for the extra price a non-subscribed user pays to go towards subsidising the price the Tesla users pay at those SuCs (so they pay a slightly cheaper price).
Instead I'm assuming Tesla are gobbling up that extra profit while making the service worse for Tesla users? (Potentially more likely to have to wait for a charge).
They’ll be checking their discussion forums and making sure their PR team are on top of identifying these concerns."We will be closely monitoring each site for congestion and listening to customers about their experiences."
I wonder how they will be doing that?
From what they have publicly said, this additional revenue will speed up the deployment of new supercharger stations, in theory making the experience better for everyone.Instead I'm assuming Tesla are gobbling up that extra profit while making the service worse for Tesla users? They probably don't get that much use most of the time so average utilisation wise it probably seems like a good idea from a Tesla point of view . First Saturday of the school summer holidays though the average Tesla driver visiting Wales may well have reason to disagree......Hmm. Opening 3 out of 4 in Wales doesn't seem like such a great idea...

We shall see.
If they try that with Wokingham they may find that they come back to their car being underwaterMy concern with partial opening is that once it gets a significant amount of press (and it will) is that there will be EVs plugging in to non-enabled sites all over the place and people just wandering off while they get zero charging. Going to be mayhem

Lowest price for Teslas.
Few p higher for 3rd party with membership
Full price for 3rd party non members
Good point! Mind you my “membership” was about 40k so they’ve a lot of catching up to do!MBy my reckoning there are three tiers:
Membership means you pay the same price per kWh as Teslas ... but you have to also pay for membership, so "more"
Was about to write the same. We pay a 50k+ one-off membership, and at the time we were led to believe that this was for exclusive access, so....Good point! Mind you my “membership” was about 40k so they’ve a lot of catching up to do!
You should try it… progressively more beautiful past Port Talbot (which is, to be fair, extremely unpicturesque). We drive to Cardiff all the time, am not sure how many people have ever visited South Wales for a school summer holiday.....even we have never been more west of Bridgend .
