A court in Norway has found Tesla guilty of throttling charging speeds and battery capacity through a 2019 software update. Customers in the country reported reduced range and slower charging times at Supercharger stations. To settle the complaint, Tesla has been ordered to pay each affected owner around $16,000.

Tesla has the option to offer a free new/remanufactured battery pack which meets original specifications. You think it will cost less than $16K?
Hard to imagine that award standing for long. Also wonder if it is likely that courts in other jurisdictions would rule the same way on the same suit.
Elon Musk must have fired his lawyers. Got too busy with his dogecoin tweets. And had no time to show up to court?
Any chance we can get this ruling in the US also??
hopefully Tesla do it to do right by their OG customers if not to pre-empt a similar nhtsa ruling
I remember reading that Tesla charges around 20K or so for a battery pack here in the States, 16K may be a little low. I would rather them replace my battery pack with a new one (not remanufactured) with an 8 year warranty and give me back my charging speed.
This is Tesla, Elon Musk might "do us a favor" by offering a customers to pay $20k for battery pack replacement with 4680 cells.

Okay -- how low can they (be allowed to) go, then? Okay to cut it in half? ten percent of original?
I don’t think they are selling you super charging at a set speed. Obviously the court disagreed.... I don’t know why though.
At some point you really can't take these on a road trip with any level of convenience. I would be miserable if this happened to me.
If they do I'll put my money where my mouth is and pay. I have said all along if they let me help buy them out of this hole I will. I just want the company to be honest, forward planning, and customer friendly. Fraud is not their best look, I'll pay up to help reinforce a return to honesty. Sustainable transportation is what I bought into. Disposable is not. I expected teething pains, not fraud. I'll rejoice if this was a teething issue.
