Tesla Owner in Vegas - Plate E7C5 - Likes to Double Park EVERYWHERE

Hello,

I'm not a Tesla owner, but I have done the $5k deposit test drive thing. It's a great car, but not for me right now.

Someone in Vegas is giving Tesla owners a bad name. Many of my friends have seen this white Tesla with Vegas plate E7C5 parking like a jerk.

We've all seen this car multiple times and he/she thinks that it's okay to sideways park in two spots at every place he/she goes.

Hopefully the owner of this white Model S checks this board. Please stop double parking in front of restaurants. I know you are proud of your car, and it really is an awesome car. However you are setting yourself up for damage when I have a pregnant wife and we could really use that extra spot that you keep taking up.

Print some of these and start putting them on his car, maybe he'll get the message:

Edit: OK, I can't get this past the profanity filter. It's censoring the URL! Google "you park like an a-hole" to find what I was trying to link to.

I really don't understand why people do this. I guess they're trying to avoid damage, but surely they realize that this behavior encourages vandalism? (Not that I endorse it, but it does happen.)

My wife and I travel as a pack of two cars. We look for two specific vacant stalls side by each:
I park in an end stall lengthways against a curb, and she parks her non-Tesla in the stall beside me with her driver's door facing away.
She follows me wherever I go, she's my carguardian.

A) Double Parking means parking in the street - not taking two spots.

B) If they're parking at the end of the lot with no other cars around, what do you care? Worry about yourself. Concerning yourself with what others "get away with" will only bring you sadness, never joy.

C) I have no idea what you're talking about with the $5,000 test drive. Are you being honest?

Final thought - parking lots are private property. If the owner of the lot doesn't care, why do you?

A) Double parking in vegas is just taking up more than one spot.

B) The spot at the end of the lot was closest to the back door of the restaurant we were invited to.

C) I was in SFO on business and to prove that I was serious about purchasing a Tesla, they wanted a $5k "down payment". It was promptly refunded after the drive. Call them if you don't believe it.

The car is awesome, but just does meet our needs right now and PLEASE stop double parking in front of restaurants in Vegas.

You're mistaken on that. It may be common to call this parking behavior "double parking" but that's incorrect in Vegas or anywhere else. Here's a College of Southern Nevada parking guide definition, page 4 #10: https://www.csn.edu/PDFFiles/PoliceServices/CSNCampusParkingRegulation.pdf

Certainly rude behavior, but I see dozens of other spots. And it's the back door. Again - is this making you happy or making you money? If neither why do you care? Why waste your time on something that can't possibly benefit you?

I can imagine you seeing the car taking two spaces and talking yourself into a froth about it. Taking pictures. Rushing home to create this account and post this in an attempt to out and embarrass the owner. But you weren't harmed or wronged here. You had plenty of spaces to park in. If, and only if, you had to drive around for a while to find a spot are you aggrieved here. Otherwise you're just aggravated and that's part of life. I'm really not trying to be a jerk. I just see stuff every day that irks me and I shrug it off because I don't want an ulcer and I'd want someone to do the same for me if I ever annoy them. (Like right now)

I didn't know that, interesting.

Good luck to you. I'm sure you can find other traffic violations that offend you if you look hard enough. There's probably someone speeding RIGHT NOW. ;)

OP has a great point, which is: just because you drive a spaceship from a future time that everyone drools over, this doesn't give you the right to park like a jerk (I can think of some great adjectives, but you know where I'm going with this). If you respect the environment enough to drive a Model S, you should respect your fellow humans, and just park between the freaking lines.
I won't do this in my Model S, nor will I did I do this in my 911s Cab.
If you can't afford a scratch or a door ding...

I am driving from Portland to Vegas in April, I will make sure to mind my parking. Cannot decide on the Aria, Vdara or Trump. Anyone have any advice.....I do need a HPWC.
I've stayed at Vdara 3 times. The rooms and the views are awesome. Get a corner room if you can manage it. The Vdara doesn't have a casino or even a real restaurant. You have to walk over to the Aria or to the Bellagio to do anything. For me, that was a plus. I don't know anything about charging amenities there, however.

Oh, and I'm glad the parking jerk is getting shamed. He deserves it.
