Read on the phone as key thread that when your phone fails to be recognized simply hold the handle out and in a few seconds the car and phone will pair and you're back in business. I have given it a try and it has worked for me: 2 for 2. Give it a try, let us know how it goes.

I was on a two-week trip through BC with my family recently, and saw one or two Model 3s in the wild! And of course we stopped at the Tesla store (Park Royal location) to see the Model 3 on display. As with all Teslas, it's an incredibly nice-looking car and photos can't do it justice. When the sales advisor on the floor started chatting with my family and I and found out we were from Alberta, he fit us in for a test drive in a Model S right away, saying it would at least be similar to the Model 3. That was a cool experience, especially since my dad hadn't driven a Tesla until then. (I got to drive it too!)

I asked if I could see the keycards, which the sales advisor went into the back to find. For some reason I thought they would be thicker than a credit card, but the cards are the exact same dimensions and thickness as any old card, matte black, with a silver TESLA embossed on the face. I'd rather add another slice of plastic to my wallet than attach another key to my already expansive keychain, honestly, so the keycard decision is cool with me.

Bottom line: I can't wait, but I'm going to have to … :p

Chinook and Fairmount service centre have the 3 (blue) on display. I would recommend the service centre if you want to view it.
I was the only one there this morning ogling at it.o_O

Hi everyone, do any of you recommend autopilot in Alberta? How good is it since we do have snow on the ground for a better part of the year. I'm debating if I should get EAP or not.
I'll never forget that one time I went for a ride with @Footbag when there was a skiff of snow on the ground. The car didn't often pick up the line on the right side of the road (it was obscured), but it managed pretty well with what it could see of the centre line. I was impressed because I expected it not to work at all. Plus it was dusk, if I recall correctly.

Myself, I wouldn't get Autopilot. I don't have that much loose change rattling around in my wallet. But if I did, and I made highway travel a habit, it would be worth the investment in my opinion. As far as I know, you can always upgrade later (although it comes at a premium over bundling it with the vehicle when new).

I didn’t get it, don’t feel like I’ve missed out on anything. Everyone I have talked to that has it, raves about it and would never buy another car without it. Just comes down to personal preference, I guess.

Depends on your commute really. I'm stuck on Deerfoot in both morning and afternoon rush hour commute and autopilot is a godsend.

Also if you drive long distance frequently, it is a no brainer.

I just looked at the long term forecast, and it looks to be a sunny and warm day!

So I spoke with one of the specialists at the nearest SC (Calgary) he said that I have the option to get my car delivered to my house (Edmonton) since I'm far enough away. My question is this, if I don't catch everything when the delivery truck driver gets me to sign off, am I hooped to get the SC to fix any damages for free?

As far as fixing damage, I wouldn't think It would not be much different taking delivery at the service center or at home.
I've done both and either way I took my time and looked over the car carefully for cosmetic items that someone could try to say I caused after delivery.
If delivered at home, one would want to be comfortable with the cars functions etc, not having the benefit of the one on one go through with a delivery specialist.

My concern was there being damage to the vehicle and Tesla saying it was the delivery company's fault and the delivery company saying that it was Tesla's and me being caught in the middle with no recourse. Ultimately I drove to Calgary and picked mine up in person.

This is also my concern. My other concern was getting all those rock chips etc on my way back to Edmonton before I can get any protection on the vehicle. Have any of you had this problem/experience??

There’s a showroom at the Fairmount service centre? Open to the public? Any idea if they’re offering test drives of the 3?
Yes. They are. I booked a test drive of the Model 3 over the phone and took it last week. Unlike many US stores, they are test driving a black read wheel drive M3 not the P3D in red with the white interior. Short test drive, only 30 minutes. Still enough to make me want one even more...

I wouldn't be too worried this time of year.

I had the 2012 Model S done after 4 years and it was like getting a new paint job. ( with a few scratches underneath ) Certainly worth the cost to do a full wrap , IMHO. Car Pretty in Edmonton did a nice job on my daughter's Model 3. They extended the wrap around the edges. ( doors, hood , etc) I had my car done in the west end by someone else and they did not do that. Eventually with wax and dirt the transition from paint to protective film started to show in my case.
