Tesla P85+ Battery Pack Module Location Diagram 1-16

Hate for my first post to be a technical question but hopefully the answer to this will help others.

I have a weak #10 Module on my battery pack and I do not plan to replace the entire battery. I’m looking at locating exactly which module it is so I only have to peel the battery cover far enough to reach said module. That being said I still plan on checking the module with a volt meter to confirm.

I’ve attached a thermal route diagram from a YouTube video but I cannot find confirmation that this is indeed the actual layout of the modules when there is 16 of them.

I asked a couple Tesla enthusiasts and they think the two modules in the front are actually 15/16

It is helpful but… if it was a module between 1-7 I’d be confident in locating the correct module. However in this case my battery module is 10.

Since some Model S only came with 14 modules I’m not sure if 8/9 are at the top or if they put 15/16 up there since it’s an upgraded option.

I will be pulling the module on Thursday and will update the community on the true location of 8/9 and if the diagram in my original post is accurate. Crossing my fingers I don’t have to do this twice

Alright guys, got your answer. The diagram that shows the thermal routing is actual module locations. I just got confirmation by Gruber Auto in Arizona that the connectors are numbered with the corresponding modules. I’ve attached two images that show module 8 is indeed at the bottom of the stack in the front of the car.

Thanks for sharing, did you found wat was wrong with your module or are you just replacing it with another?

The module had a shorted cell which caused it to only show 21 volts instead of 24. This caused imbalance in the battery pack and prevented charging.

Did replacing the module fix your issue? Did you do anything else with the BMS?
