But you can charge them up during the day with excess solar, and then draw from them at night time instead of using grid power. I've never done the math on that, but that way you can have an ROI.. but I don't know what the break-even point would be.

Retail on my array was $20k so figure another $5k to store for evening use. Plus $10k for the powerwall. To save $20 per month on a power bill would take 750 months or 62.5 years, assuming zero cost of capital or zero interest rate.

If your interest rate is more than 2% it will never pay for itself.

To figure ROI on the powerwall you just use the additional cost of the PW. If you have two powerwalls at 13kwh each for say 25 kWh of use each night... at $.20/kWh that’s $150 per month. If you don’t have net meetering and the elec co pays you $.03 for excess solar, that’s $125 per month savings. Or an 8 year break even point.

If you do have net meetering than just use the grid as the battery.

The person I gift this to will be receiving the w9 form.

Installation is 3k, but Tesla will cover 1k of it, leaving the gifted to pay 2k

The powerwall and gateway is included

I have adjusted the price to $5350. They can get this installed in the next couple months.
