Tesla raised the cost of all Model X non-solid black paint options by $500. Most colors are $1500 and multi-coats are now $2000. I suppose that makes me feel a little better about getting it before the PUP discount happened. Now I only "lost" $2000 instead of $2500

And the Model X looks like a Pontiac Aztek. Who cares? Point is, charging 2k for painting a car is kinda ridiculous. Apple would be proud.

I actually think its pretty reasonable for a premium brand. My Jag F Type has premium paint options starting at $5k and going up to $8.5k

You pay through the teeth for certain paint colors for a BMW M3/M5 as well. The price is reasonable, just bad timing as they add this after making PUP cheaper.
