The 2016 models use a different TPMS system then the 2013's.

Correction - I called my local Tesla service center and I was told that you can use/install an older/2013 21" turbine wheels on a newer/2016 or 2017 Model S car and use the existing TPMS, however, you cannot buy and install a newer TPMS on a older car.

Hope this helps anyone thinking of swapping out their 19" wheels for the 21" wheels.

So the new TPMS system is backwards compatible with the older system? I'm guessing it still won't show on the dash though.
