Interestingly it redirected me to general support page. I changed my location from Canada (en) to USA and it loaded.
Liftgate open position can be adjusted to your desired height.
What's surprising is how complicated other manufacturers make it to adjust the height. At least in our Forester, there's a Memory Height button at the front of the car that needs to be toggled before specially opening the lift gate using the "manual opening" procedure and adjusting the height and saving with a long press. And if you accidentally hit the button, the trunk will seem to be broken and open slightly but not useful for anything.
