Left my office this morning (I work graves) and noticed my rear driver’s side tire was flat. Called roadside and they installed an undersized loaner on my Performance 3. I didn’t realize the standard range rim diameter is 18”, otherwise I would have stopped this clown.

Three calls later, from the tow company owner and TR, and I’ve been scheduled for a caliper replacement and discounted tire on Tuesday.

Don’t let this happen to you : (

they normally put 19s on as loaners no matter what tire you have, in that situation. Are you saying they put an 18 inch tire on? I have had 3 loaner 19s (3 separate flat tires) with no issues like that, and I had both the factory 20s and the referral zero g wheels.

They had a 19” wheel on the truck, but accidentally installed the 18. The driver/owner blamed Tesla for the mix-up. He claimed they color code the rims, and the 19s are supposed to be silver only.
How far did you drive until you noticed the damage?
About 6 inches…
Ouch... Typically they use a 19" loaner so it fits all 3 models. The 18" will only fit the SR and LR as it can't fit over the M3P calipers as you unfortunately found out.
I’m am very aware now lol

I guess these Tesla Roadside assistance guys are just contract? And not like actual tesla Rangers? Pretty Sad.

They are contractors. I’m sure it’s much more cost-efficient to farm roadside work out

I dont think roadside assistance from ANY car company is provided by the specific company, so I dont quite get the point of this comment. BMW roadside assistance (for example) is provided by the exact same companies in my area as tesla roadside assistance.

There is no way any of these companies could afford to employ enough workers to man tow trucks around the country / world for roadside assistance issues.

Tesla is the only one I know of that has a service that offers to loan a tire to you. Most other companies have swapped to run flat tires or will offer to put the spare tire you already have in your car on there for you, but none of the other manufacturer contracts offer to bring a tire.

Note that the service is provided by the same tow companies in your area that provide basically all other towing services (like AAA for example) so its going to be the same tow truck person whether you call AAA, or Tesla roadside, or hire them yourself. The only difference is who is paying, and what they are paying.
