I recently make my first long distant trip in my 2017 Tesla S. Took the southern route from SF to Tampa. 3200 miles. 6 days.
Mostly all on I-10. No problems. All the charging stations were found easily. Some not exactly where the car said to look. Some in dark, lonely places which were scary late at night. There needs to be a supercharger on the Westside of Houston. With few exceptions, I was the only car charging (daylight hours). I did worry about a flat time. Didn't happen but would not expect quick roadside assistance in some areas. I think I would take a spare if I do that again. Anyway, lots of fun. I did opt to ship the car back to SF. About the same price.
