Jun 19, 2018 · In an email to Tesla employees late Sunday night, CEO Elon Musk says that an unnamed employee admitted to sabotaging the company's Freemont, California plant.
We’ve had our Model X for four years. Best vehicle we’ve ever owned. So we jumped on ordering a Cyber Truck. Glad to see site prep work on the factory. Hope to get our truck next year.
Reminds me of when I was a boy, growing up in Texas in the 1950’s. Every Ford you saw came with this on their rear window. Wonder if Tesla will do likewise?
I have a 3. Perfect. Tent was built to expedite production. It worked. Shanghai plant started with an empty field and within 1 year, they put up a bldg, installed equipment and were producing cars within 1 year. Not too shabby
What's the problem? M3s are available in robust quantity. Ok, so he used a tent - to get around the "fail" which is the local zoning laws that would have delayed production by months/years over bureaucracy & paperwork. Looks like success to me. I'm sure choosing this Texas site addressed such problems quite explicitly; if Tesla ends up using a tent (doubt it) it would be due to speed to production. China factory went up fast. German Gigafactory went up fast. Where's the "fail"?
The Tesla factory in Austin will be within the controlled airspace of ABIA (Austin-Bergstrom Intl. Airport). This area is to the east of the TX-130 highway north of the airport, which allows for flights up to 300 or 400 feet. ArcGIS Web Application
I can't wait for my Cybertruck!!! AND FOR BATTERY DAY to see how he has ramped up the range of the batteries.
But also endless sales and fun. Most Teslas have no problems, so don't know about your "hallmark". I've bought three now, and wouldn't hesitate to buy another of any of the brand. Musk's "epic fail" turned out a ton of cars, both before and after the tent went up. Sure, you wish Tesla operated more like Ford or GM, but most of us don't.
I want to know the same thing. Makes no sense we would "reward" Texas with some kind of quid pro quo.
First, you can buy and pick up your Tesla in Texas. Thousands of people have done so. I bought my two Teslas in Texas with no issues. For the MX, I went to a Tesla gallery, looked it over, had my questions answered and a week later I purchased it on line. Less than two weeks later, I picked it up at the Houston Service Center. Second, the dealership network is very powerful in Texas so I predict no changes. That’s the good news, because you don’t have to deal with a car salesperson or their Manager.
