How about the Semi becoming a mobile SuperCharger?

Just the cab or with a few additional battery packs?

Say it could provide an emergency 10kW charge in 5 mins to get you 25+ miles to get home or to a charger.

Also could provide valet opportunity charging when you park your car.

Could easily charge $1/kW+ for an emergency! $0.50/kWn for opportunity charging.

If the Semi has 1MW battery, half could charge 50 cars.

Don't know if you could make it a business but Tesla could do it to further reduce range anxiety.

Even more useful when an autonomous Semi would come to you.

Any thoughts on how to make this work or better?

For emergency charging one car semi is too large. MS could do it. For Burning Man semi would be great.

Getting electric energy out of a car would be useful in many situations.
Indeed a Semi would be very big.

A pickup with a additional ~100kWh battery would be sufficient. It could give you let's say 20kWh and get you to the nearest charger.

They have something like that in Japan:

How many kW is 80,000 lbs of batteries on a semi trailer?

Now imagine that at Burning Man, or any other mass gathering.

The SuperCharger network is now like the cellular network where infrastructure can be moved around based on demand.

After the trailer weight, capacity is generally 48,000 lbs, or roughly 21800 kg. At 167 Wh/g, they could fit about 3,640 kWh on the trailer. Enough to fully charge around 364 P100Ds.

The cost would be a mere $364,000 at $100/kWh.

There was a post a while back, either here or on Reddit, that analyzed Tesla batteries replacing the huge generators at festivals and whatnot. It didn't work out cost wise in Tesla's favor -- diesel is just so much more energy dense.
 
Regarding the thought of it being a business idea, there is not enough people running out of charge to sustain any measurable income from it. There are plenty of ways to charge EVs and you almost have to run out on purpose. I have yet to see a stranded EV on the side of the road, ever. You might get one call per month in a service region. The rest of the time, you’ll be twiddling your thumbs.

Also, 10kW of charging would not get you 25 miles in 5 minutes. A 10kW rate is about 30 miles per hour so in 5 minutes, you would only get 2.5 miles. Did you mean 100kW? That would get you about 25 miles.
 
That concept might have some legs.

Imagine a Tesla Semi, packed with batteries and a huge array of solar panels they could lay out on the ground. Panels charge the batteries and the batteries provide a steady source of juice.

Currently might be more expensive than diesel generators, but they are loud and smelly (also heavily polluting)

Could be delivered to weather disasters or to support a near battlefield logistics center. Could charge up a fleet of drones, all the communications, lighting, etc.
