Tesla sends out delivery delay emails

Totally re-thinking the entire purchase. I have been holding on to dear life with my current vehicle which I’ve wanted to replace for over a year. It is never a great idea to buy in the first model year of a car. With all that is surrounding this vehicle and company, I may not be the best customer.

I really need to think about whether this is the right car and company for me and my $$$$. I want to support the mission but not sure if I’m willing to pay the “price” in the many ways that can be defined.

I wish Elon had not given me more time to bail on this thing......just today (before the news) my wife said, “just face it, that Tesla is not coming anytime soon, go buy something else.” This...coming from the woman that stood in line on day 1 for hours for my reservation.

Edit to add..FWIW..Two reservations and shareholder....I am not a happy guy right now.

Yup. Buying Audi S5 sportback soon. Tesla will be there for my next car.

I've already bailed, in any case... bought a 440 a couple weeks back. But for the moment, I'm hanging on to the reservation just because.

Same here, but this means that our timing would be even closer to V1, which means even less plant experience before building ours. It's risky enough to buy first year, but first couple of months? Don't think I like those odds for quality.

"Early 2019" still on my delivery estimator. I guess that's sufficiently vague as to only need changing sometime during 2019.

It appears that the FAQ has been updated with some newer information: Model 3 Reservations FAQ

"Once you receive your invitation and place your order for Model 3, you can expect to take delivery in approximately 1-3 months depending on your location."

I don't recall seeing that in the FAQ before.

Wow?? Huh? It’s November and it sounds like my Oct-Dec2017 slot for LR will be Dec-Feb best case and more likely Jan-March so obviously SR will be next year.
