Tesla "Service Hell"

So I'd say enough time as gone by that we've learned you actually experienced something far closer to service "heaven" than "hell". Got all your problems fixed in a timely fashion while getting to drive a Model S for free. And the fixes didn't cost you a thing.

I've missed the part where you've admitted that Tesla service is awesome and you are totally happy with your car.

"Service Heaven" doesn't garner quite the same attention.

Umm.... No.
My car was delivered last Friday by a courteous Tesla service rep. All fixed and cleaned.
But it came with a brand new .... SCRATCH on the bumper. He took it back and I kept the loaner.

Check my update above. I didn’t chose to post for a week thinking Tesla will fix scratch and deliver “one done up car” after nearly two months that is only pending firmware update for mundane thing like “safe breaking”...
But they are radio silent on what’s going on and when will it be done. Umm first two payments done.

So sorry to hear about your car. Granted you have a new car and everything should be taken care of right away and not take this long. I bought a CPO MS with 57k miles, took delivery Feb 9th. Took car in because my pano roof molding was getting hard and cracking due to age. This is where it gets fun, ill just sum it up for you:

1) 1st visit - 3 days later - Tesla SC calls, leaves a VM 'your part is here and its gonna cost $2700", me: "my car is under warranty", them "you have to call your delivery specialist, cant work on it until we get the ok in the system" Friday evening at 5:30pm, finally get it sorted out and they apologize.
2) 3 days later - fix my car, i go and pick it up and there's scratches on all 4 panels, (no one thought to walk around my car)
3) 3 days later - Go pick it up (They only removed scratches from one side of the car???) Seriously???
4) 4 days later - Pick up my car, looks good (Drive off...next day, i hear wind noise in my car with the roof closed at 30mph) NO one test drove the car after fixing it?????
5) Take it back and 3 days later pick up my car (Scratches again on panels, i said im going to get it detailed myself and youre gonna pay for it...they agree)
6) drive my car on freeway at 74 mph, i hear wind noise again
7) Take it back and they fix it and while driving it on freeway, they say "sorry, a truck in front of your car had something fly off and dented your hood and bumper" (again....seriously?????)

Long story short....they've had my car more than i have ever since i took delivery of it in Feb. I love the car but this SC is seriously lacking in QA and attention to detail.

Holy crap. At what point can one invoke Lemon in this scenario? - check.. So much for “premium” brand and all of the sustainable energy future.

Get a better service center location and “hope”. By the way there should be a way on these forums to vote on service center locations imho..

Which service center is this?

Well....cant invoke a lemon law because #1 its used, #2 theres nothing mechanically wrong with it, just no awareness of the SC people there doing the repairs.

They did give me a brand new 2017 MS with 24 miles to drive as a loaner though....and ive put almost 2k miles on it so far. I guess that is my only saving grace from this ordeal.

If I were driving around in a newish Model S instead of the Model 3 I'd bought, I'd keep very quiet and hope they never gave me my car back. This whine-fest is kind of hilarious.

Admittedly, the incompetence of various service centers is kind of pathetic, but the way Tesla pampers its customers is awesome.

I just want to drive the car that I paid for. I do not like a model S as much, even though it’s a perfect car. At least not as by product of service hell. Yes putting miles on loaner is nice. The goal here was to share/highlight the service and build imperfections.

Just heard of the class action lawsuit about autopilot software that’s in beta for 4 years.. and it shows to me the same tendency to overstate features.

I even drove to service center. I was not given any info neither my car back. Staff just said we are waiting for engineering to respond on some issues and open question. No clarity, no alternatives. The loaner I have is a 78,000 miles driven Model S with scratches allover, and it SMELLS when I turn fan on.
Loaners are awesome.
They are able to do four wheel driving, creek crossings, rentable on Air BnB, etc
Very versatile, loaner cars.

Just an update..
As agreed, yesterday I visited Fremont service center with family to get my car back.
Tesla fixed the chip/scratch on bumper but now we hear wind noise. This was the first time I took it out for a spin after glass roof replacement and we all heard wind noise.

The service rep was not willing to test drive with me. He seemed more keen and got my signature on previous repair order and declared the car ready to be taken! The signage happened in the parking lot and we were not offered a seat to sit and discuss concerns.

We asked for a supervisor but we were not given a chance to speak to one.

We returned with the loaner, unwillingly, while they continue to park my brand new model 3 in the dusty super hot parking lot. Yes I can see now what some people feel about loaners (the feeling of versatility and usage of them) and why they do so.

I did want to mention and forgot that there is yet another issue - there are GAPS in the rubber lining between glass roof and body panels, resulting in noise today and perhaps dust, debris, rain and moisture later in life.

AND we had MARKED and clearly mentioned about this and yet they have not told us whether it is fixed or not.

What F-ed up build quality.
What's your VIN?

Is this thread really necessary any more?
Yes. Because this is just a preview of what's possible when Tesla cars are released into the "wild" of buyers who did not start out as true believers in the Tesla mission. People, IOW, who were looking for a great new car, not willingly signing up to be part of a company's learning curve.

Can this post be locked. There is no value add and no desire to listen and resolve issues.

Why?

Is there anything inflammatory or derogatory in this post? Or do you just personally dislike it? Should all posts that, in your opinion, "add no value or desire to listen or resolve issues" be locked?

The same argument could be made for many posts.
