Like any other ICE (SUV OR REGULAR AWD) car:
D - can be selectable from front, rear to 4wd by software control base on the driving condition. Like if on boring long distance driving, 2wd is good enogh, energy saving and range can also be much better than all time AWD.

AP is not a hardware, for the model that have the hardware capable of AP and shall be free to use!

Ok, please explain why the D version has better range if selectable 2wd would be energy saving?

Front motor uses less energy and is therefore more efficient for highway cruising when at speed.

"AP is not a hardware, for the model that have the hardware capable of AP and shall be free to use!" Not sure what this means...

See the car as a device like iPhone and AP is part of the OS that as a driving feature and it's a BETA still. As you may paid preminm price for the hardware but without proper OS to bring out the best of it, then the hardware has no use and not much differents from any others.

AFAIK, Tesla's Torque Sleep system selects the most efficient option depending on settings (Insane/Sport etc) and driver pedal inputs (required acceleration/lift-off regen).

Would imagine that Cruise Controlled driving at the lowest safe speed would yield the highest efficiency gains.
