Tesla’s debut of the Model Y crossover SUV is scheduled for tonight at 8 p.m. The event will be livestreamed from the Tesla Design Center in Los Angeles.
In teasing the livestream in a tweet, Tesla offered the best look at the Model Y to date. While the 7-second video only shows the SUV under a cover, it gives us a better understanding of the vehicle’s shape.
Given the Model Y is said to share 75% of parts with the Model 3, it’s not surprising to see similarities to the popular mid-size sedan. But, the rear of the vehicle certainly brings to mind the company’s flagship Model X SUV.
Tesla plans to achieve volume production of the Model Y by the end of 2020.
