Tesla should never transport new vehicle in open carrier

    That's frustrating news for the new owners who are going to have to wait a bit longer for their deliveries and for the driver of the truck who is going to have to explain how it happened.

    I wonder what happens to the VIN number when the Tesla has to be replaced since it is already in MyTesla for financing and insurance

    My heart was racing until I saw it was a black X... phew almost had a heart attack!
    That really sucks for the owner of that X, hopefully Tesla prioritizes making him or her a new tesla (or repairing it) ASAP.

    I don't think TM will make a new X for that poor owner. Most likely TM will fix the damage parts and pretends the accident never happened. The new owner will never know what had happened.

    I don't see how an enclosed transport would have prevented that accident.

    The car is flooded because of the rain, they would have to replace the car and use the current X as a display model or salvage it for refurbish parts.

    This is why they should install XPEL at the factory. The self-healing would have helped.
