Project Portal goes 200 miles on 40kg of H2 that Toyota is targeting a 30-40 mile refuel time...
Nikola has to build out Billions of dollars in infrastructure, they're giving away 1M miles of free H2 that they claim to have cost down to $4/kg (but even so would be more the diesel), claim to have a much more efficient truck than Toyota...and the base truck costs $375k...
Amazing how skeptical people are the Tesla semi, where H2 it taken at face value.
Hydrogen leak in open area is harmless. Even hydrogen fire in open area is not so bad, because most burning would happen high up. Hydrogen leak in closed space is a bomb. Imagine hydrogen truck leaking in a long tunnel. (Europe has lot of those.) Hydrogen spreads fast, ignites easily and gives lot of energy. Does tunnel become gun barrel with cars as bullets?
